Swarovski Ceramic® stones are made from a type of glass ceramic belonging to the family of nano-gems (or nano-crystal, nanosital), a recent generation of high quality synthetic precious stoneses. Derived from the glass-ceramic technology that has become the reference for coloured synthetic stones, these stones combine remarkable trasnparence, uniform colour and a controlled brilliance, similar to natural gemstones.
Our collection uses official Swarovski® Ceramics technology produced in Austria. In the world of jewellery, this exceptional material is known by the technical name ‘glass-ceramic’. Unlike traditional crystal or simple glass paste, glass-ceramic is a nano-crystalline composite material. Obtained using a cutting-edge thermal process, the material undergoes controlled crystallisation, giving it superior physical and optical properties.Glass-ceramic stone has a hardness rating of 7 on the Mohs scale (harder than standard glass or crystal, just below zirconium, which rates 8.5). This material is renowned for its resistance to thermal shock. It does not break or crack and retains its structural integrity, making it a preferred choice for durable settings.
These Swarovski® Ceramic stones offer a perfect aesthetic equivalent to natural gemstones, allowing you to achieve a high-end jewellery look at a reasonable cost.
Discover our range of Swarovski® Ceramic stones in glass-ceramic. Designed to meet the most stringent requirements of high-end costume or fashion jewellery, these stones combine the aesthetics of a gemstone with robust durability.
Our Swarovski Ceramic® stones are available in 4 colours:
Sapphire Blue: a deep sapphire like blue, bright and consistent
Emerald Green: an intense green, reminiscent of a cut emerald
Ruby Red: a saturated red, typical of ruby
Black: an elegant black stone but with a subtle transparency and a brilliant sheen that would be impossible to acheive with an opaque natural stone such as onyx.
Swarovski Ceramic® is produced by the fusion of a special glass followed by controlled crystallisation at the nanometric scale.
This process creates a stone:
highly transparent (virtually free of inclusions),
with stable colour that can be exactly reproduced,
with a hardness of around 7 Mohs,
with a refactive index suited to coloured stones,
with a low dispersion level, idearl for acheiving a natural gemstone type brilliance rather than a 'crystal' type sparkle.
This technology positions Swarovski Ceramic® as the most credible modern alternative for imitating ruby, sapphire or emerald, with a consistency that is impossible to achieve with natural stones.
Our glass-ceramic stones are available as follows:
exclusively round cut (the most popular cut in jewellery and the most suitable for maximising the stone's brilliance),
5 sizes from 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm, in increments of 0.5 mm,
Sold in packs of 20 stones, ideal for crafting or professional use.
Swarovski Ceramic® offer excellent dimensional stability and are easy to set thanks to their moderately high hardness and homogeneous structure.
These nano-gems are perfect for:
contemporary high-end jewellery,
creations requiring realistic imitations of coloured precious stones,
jewellery requiring a certain level of resistance for everyday wear,
projects where perfect, consistent and durable colour is essential.
Thanks to their nanocrystalline nature, they are a high-end alternative to natural gemstones, while offering unrivalled reliability and uniformity.
